I used to think of myself as a musician. It was my first major in college. I would have chosen blindness over deafness. I spent all my money on CDs and played guitar all the time. I bought rudimentary recording equipment. And even though I was really only in one actual band—which was way back in high school—I continued writing and recording music despite the fact that I couldn’t sing at all.
Music fell out of the spotlight over time. And after writing and recording two albums at the same time in 2011-2012, I took a break. I put out an instrumental EP in 2014, but that’s about it.
Well, today breaks that dry streak. I put out an album on Spotify (and I think other streaming platforms too, but I don’t really know how any of this works) called “We All Go to Hell.”
My buddy Dom Granda put together the album artwork for me. Hit him up if you need any sort of design work. He’s good.
The oldest song is my favorite track from one of the aforementioned 2012 releases. I was never quite happy with how it turned out so I wanted to do it again. The newest song was written in July. So the breadth of the album is close to a decade.
However, I worked to weave a similar theme and feel throughout the songs despite the various styles incorporated throughout. Does that sound grandiose? Maybe. But oh well that was my goal.
If you couldn’t tell from the title, it’s a pretty pessimistic album. But that’s just because everything sucks and I don’t think we’ll be able to come out of it.
I’ll save you the masturbatory process of walking through each song. Check it out on your favorite streaming service if you feel so inclined. I put it on Bandcamp as well, if for no other reason that to have all of the albums on one platform.
So feel free to download it for free, or stream it for free.
